“We become what we think”
Begin with this simple test – Don’t think of a 5 legged, blue dog. How easy is it not to think of this. You will probably have found that in order to remove that 5 legged blue dog from your mind, you first had to think of it. Then check out how successful you were in making the image go away?
Its difficult to NOT think of something. So if we want to have something in our lives, the trick is to think of what we want, not what we don’t want. For Example - If we want a better job, think about who you will work with, what you wear, what you do, think about the enjoyment and the ease of this new job. Think about the recognition you will get, how people will understand and support you and how you will support others. Fantasise about what exactly you will be doing and how. Make the image really compelling. Add sounds and feelings and make it as real as possible.
When you are clear about what you want, your mind, as if by magic, will help you notice the opportunities. It will present them to you. You can then take advantage of these opportunities and begin to live the life you know you deserve.
